Scam is fraudulent scheme performed by a dishonest individual, group, or company in an attempt obtain money or something else of value. Scams traditionally resided in confidence tricks, where an individual would misrepresent themselves as someone with skill or authority, i.e. a doctor, lawyer, investor.

After the internet became widely used, new forms of scams emerged such as lottery scams, scam baiting, email spoofing, phishing, or request for helps. These are considered to be email fraud.

The Cambridge Dictionary Simply defines Scam as An illegal plan for making money, especially one that involves tricking people

Identifying Scam Business Frauds Websites

Business Frauds

1. Double-Check The Domain Name

A lot of fraudulent websites will use a domain name that references a well-known brand or product name. But won’t be the official website.
You should also be cautious of domains that end with .net or .org, as they are rarely used for online shopping so may have been acquired by questionable organizations.

2. Checkout The Pages Of The Website

Take a couple of minutes to double-check the site. Maybe visit the homepage or the About Us Pages and read the text there and see what they say about the business and its mission

You should also watch out for poor English, such as spelling and grammar mistakes, or phrases that don’t sound quite right.

It could mean the site isn’t genuine and was put together by someone looking to make a quick profit.

You should also check that the website Contact Us Page

Reputable and legitimate companies will always list ways to get in touch with them; if the website doesn’t have a Contact Us page, it could well be fraudulent.

If the site does have Contact Us page but only offers a form to fill out, be wary as this could also be an indication of a dubious website.

Any company offering goods or services should list a place of business, as well as a phone number or email address through which to contact them. if any of the above pages such as Privacy Policy, Contact Us, Disclaimer, About Us are not found then you should treat the website as highly suspicious and fraud business

3. The Appearance Of The Website

Come to think of it when you go to a shopping mall to buy electronics the one which is clean and looks new will attract more attention than the one which looks old and almost faulty

The same thing implies when it comes to identify fraud business, you should check the design of the site very well before thinking of investing your time and money into it a website with poor theme/ design and has no much pages has nothing meaningful to offer, such a website is trivial and will result to fraud business

4. Check The Returns Policy

If the company is selling a product online, it should have a shipping and returns policy listed on its website. If it’s a real company, it should tell you how and where to return a faulty item.

The website should also have terms and conditions, and a privacy policy that tells you exactly what it plans to do with any data you share and any extra contractual rights you may have.

5. Read Some Reviews And Comments About The Website/Platform

You should carry out an Action research, stud and get reviews about the business or platform and know what people have said concerning the platform or business. Thank God you stormed this site because here on i share info and make reviews about latest scam free businesses in Nigeria. You should also check the company’s social media pages for recent activity and to see what other people are posting on their social channels.

As i visited the site i had no option than to back my bag and baggage and run for my dear life as if my village people dey chase me for dream lol…

Here is the thing i found out, The important pages which i mentioned above are all missing th most annoying part of it is that the design of the site is nothing but just an eyesore (Very poor) hence the business is not trust worthy despite some people are withdrawing from it and i think its free to join

But hey one thing am sure of is that the End is always Catastrophic, i am not possibly saying Joomta is a scam but personally i wont join some platform because i don’t do Peasant businesses

I have said this before and i am still saying again, “Any business which tends to favour members without favoring the business owners are likely to be scam because every business is setup with the sole aim of making profit”
